Job Opportunity: Credit Analyst (2 Positions) – Anglophone West Africa, Credit Assessment

Afreximbank is seeking two qualified Credit Analysts to join our dynamic team, based in Anglophone West Africa. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to credit assessment and risk analysis at a leading African trade finance institution. As a Credit Analyst, you will play a critical role in evaluating credit risks, financial statements, and loan structures, contributing to the growth of the bank's portfolio across the region.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct credit analysis, financial risk assessments, and evaluate creditworthiness for loans.
• Review and assess financial statements to understand a company's financial health.
• Apply credit risk models to evaluate risks and structure loans effectively.
• Contribute to financial risk modeling and the development of rating models.
• Stay current with KYC (Know Your Customer) and CDD (Customer Due Diligence) compliance requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure robust credit risk management and reporting.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience:

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (minimum of Second-Class Honors).
• An MBA or relevant professional certifications (e.g., CFA, ACCA, CPA) will be a distinct advantage.

Experience:

• At least 1 year of experience in credit analysis, financial analysis, or risk assessment.
• Knowledge of credit risk principles, financial statement analysis, and loan structuring.

Technical Skills & Knowledge:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and financial modeling.
• Expertise in financial risk assessment, credit intelligence, and risk modeling.
• Familiarity with rating models, KYC/CDD requirements, and compliance processes.

Soft Skills:

• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced financial environment.
